Central CA Territory Manager - Technical Adhesive Sales

Job Description

We are seeking self-motivated, confident individuals with a history of overachievement. This position is an industrial business-to-business sales role, ideally suited for candidates with technical sales experience in adhesives or chemical manufacturing. The role will focus on securing new accounts while maintaining an existing customer base in a specific geographic territory.


Territory: Central California; must live in the Territory; Fresno Modesto, Madara, and Bakersfield area preferred

Compensation: Competitve base salary + existing commission ($60K) + 10% of revenue on new sales (uncapped commission structure!!)

Business Mix: 70-80% new business development


Key Responsibilities

    • Source New Opportunities
      Leverage digital tools, industry events, trade shows, and inbound leads to create a robust pipeline of prospective accounts.

    • Maintain High Sales Activity
      Consistently meet or exceed activity expectations, providing regular updates and insights to management.

    • Develop Strategic Proposals
      Create and present compelling sales proposals that align with customer needs and position Applied Adhesives as the preferred partner.

    • Manage Key Account Plans
      Build detailed customer plans and growth strategies for high-value accounts, ensuring alignment with business objectives.

    • Communicate Professionally
      Uphold exceptional communication standards in all internal and external interactions.

    • Represent the Organization
      Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and compliance with all company policies and regulatory requirements.

    • Collaborate Cross-Functionally
      Work closely with Marketing, Purchasing, Customer Service, and other departments to deliver a seamless customer experience.

    • Travel as Needed
      Perform overnight travel to meet with customers and support business development efforts.

    • Champion Safety
      Follow all safety procedures and complete required training in a timely manner.

    • Support Continuous Improvement
      Identify areas for process enhancement and contribute to overall operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Self-starter with a strong hunter mentality, able to proactively pursue and close new business
  • Technical sales experience within the chemical manufacturing industry; coatings, adhesives, or sealants experience strongly preferred
  • Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years in business development, with a focus on generating new customers and revenue growth
  • Familiarity with Challenger or Sandler sales methodologies
  • Experience using CRM platforms (Salesforce a plus)
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
